Broken– a word the world views as being a negative description. It deems broken things as trash, no longer valuable or able to be used. If it is broken, get a new one.
Thankfully, our Father operates opposite the world. Broken – beautiful potential ready to be transformed to their intended form. His heart swells each time one of His children falls to their knees and declares themselves broken. As they reach the point of desperation and think it is time to give up, God sees their giving up as surrender and their desperation as a declaration of brokenness. He gathers the broken child in His arms and silently surrounds them in a love so strong, there is no denying His presence. Hope springs to life as love quietly takes root in the soul of a broken person. For when a person admits to being broken, they admit they can’t do it alone and they don’t have everything all together. The sweet surrender of a broken spirit results in the gift of a heart. Offering up the broken and bruised self, people return their heart back to its Creator. Freely, they have chosen their Father’s love and curled up broken in His arms. With a sweet smile, He holds the broken overjoyed to begin their transformation into the whole creation He intended. And the restoration of the broken is only the edge of the cliff overlooking His love.
Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
